By: Ice Dogs Staff | Published 12/7/11

The Fox Cities Ice Dogs amateur men's hockey team will be honoring and celebrating the efforts and achievements of the Valley's Special Olympics athletes at Friday's game at the Appleton Family Ice Center. The 7:30 p.m. contest pits the Ice Dogs against the rival De Pere Deacons in a Great Lakes Hockey League game.

For the sixth year in a row the Ice Dogs have invited all area Special Olympics athletes attend this game as their guests. All Special Olympics athletes wearing their medals will be admitted free of charge. The Ice Dogs strongly support the Special Olympics program and are dedicated to assisting in its success.

Blake Anderson, a Special Olympics athlete from Oshkosh, will act as Honorary Ice Dogs Captain and drop the ceremonial first puck.
